About the Owners

Atan AF is the founder and owner of SENDI Studio & Gallery located in Bachok, Kelantan, Malaysia. He is an Associate Professor at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), and Former Dean of the Faculty of Creative Technology and Heritage, UMK, and a Visiting Professor at Universiti Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Bandung, Indonesia. He is an active academician, often invited as a speaker at the national and international levels and actively involved in various activities in the fields of visual arts, digital arts, creative technology, and heritage at the national, ASEAN, and international levels. He has worked for many years as an art educator from 1997 to 2020 and has also been actively appointed as art director, consultant, international and national guest speaker at international and national conferences, national and international committee members, art curators, judges, and jurors. His professional practice includes art theory, art history, digital art, higher education leadership, teaching and learning in higher education especially in art education, national panel for art curriculum development, animation, screen study, visual arts, design, mobile applications, posters design, logo, and consulting related to art, creative technology and heritage. To continue his efforts to contribute his expertise to the country and around the world, he and his colleagues from Malaysia and Indonesia have successfully established the ASEAN Digital Art Society (ASEDAS) in 2020 and established the Animation Malaysia Educators Society (ANIMATES) in 2018. His works has exhibited in Spain, South Africa, China, Belgium, Mexico, Indonesia, and Malaysia. In addition, he has also won gold, silver, and bronze medals in many international competitions such as the International Technology Expo (ITEX), Malaysian Technology Expo and many other achievements in teaching and learning as well as in national and international art conferences and exhibitions. Based on his outstanding expertise and achievements, he has been appointed as Advisor to the China-European International Design Cultural Association (CEIDA) for two (2) years; Founder and President of the Malaysian Animation Educators Association (PPAM); Member of the Malaysian Animation Association (ANIMAS); Member of the Malaysian Teachers Foundation (YGMB); Member of the National Teachers Union (NUTP), Founder and President of ASEAN Digital Art Society (ASEDAS); Malaysia, Founder and Chairman of the ASEAN Digital Arts Association (ASEDAS); Founder & President of Animation Malaysia Educators Society (ANIMATES); Exco / Member of the Malaysian Association of Communication Educators (MACE) and was previously appointed as a Board Member of the Kelantan State Government Museum Corporation, Malaysia.
